A charming little town in the Herault in Occitan region La Salvetat-sur-Agout takes the heart of the Parc Regional du Haut Languedoc Natural, at the confluence of Vèbre and the Agout. It is located on the edge of the Tarn, near Anglès Lacaune or Olargues.
Of ancient origin, the city of La Salvetat-sur-Agout was born around the year one thousand, with the construction of houses around the chapel Saint-Etienne de Cavall. She then moved to the twelfth century to a rocky outcrop of a meander of the Agout to ensure the safety of its inhabitants. It then gradually develops over the centuries, taking the charming face it has today.
La Salvetat-sur-Agout continues to attract visitors with its unique natural setting as much as by its rich architectural and historical heritage.
