Things to see and do

Rebuilt at the end of the 19th century, the church of Saint-Pierre now has a medieval style. The building is built on the model of several other churches in the region, similar to those of Fleuré or La Trimouille. Inside, one can see in particular an 18th century armorized slab of the family of Laage de la Bertholière.

Reorganized in VVF, holiday village, the domain of the Bertholière is originally a fortified lodge that formerly served as the seat of a châtellenie. Owned by the family of Laage de la Bertholière from the 13th century to the French Revolution, it now offers holiday homes, a children's playground, a swimming pool or a tennis court.

Two other castles, private property, also take place on the territory of La Bussière, that of the Guittière, and that of La Roche-Aguet.

But La Bussière is especially appreciated for its important natural heritage, and one can thus discover there an arboretum of more than 800 trees, a garden and orchard conservatory, or even a fishing course in river. The village is also surrounded by more than thirty kilometers of marked hiking trails, and families can enjoy the leisure park on the banks of the Gartempe open from June to September. You will discover many outdoor activities, picnic areas and water sports.

Events and festivities

In March, La Bussière celebrates its carnival with a parade and several animations.

The beach party takes place at the leisure base at the end of July with a ball and a fireworks display.

Do not miss the nature festival at the leisure base in early September.
