Castle located in the commune of La Broque, in the Lower Rhine, the castle of Salm still overlooks the valley of the Bruche. Installed in lush greenery in the sandstone Vosges, it now unveils ruins classified as Historical Monuments.
Built at the beginning of the thirteenth century by Henry III, the castle of Salm is sold a few years later to the bishop of Metz, under duress. Very active between the fourteenth and fifteenth century, the site is almost completely destroyed in 1475 by the troops of Charles the Bold. Never rebuilt since, today it unveils a shield tower, the chamber of a vaulted tank on doubleau, and a postern, all in a resolutely Gothic style.
Guided tours and activities are regularly organized.
