Pleasant town of the Loire, about twenty kilometers from Saint-Étienne, L'Horme takes place above the coal basin of the Loire. It is located not far from Saint-Paul-en-Jarez, Saint-Chamond and Rive-de-Gier, at the gates of the Pilat massif.
Of ancient origin, the town of L'Horme was especially famous in the 19th century with the creation of forges and blast furnaces. It then lived to the rhythm of industrial renewal, seeing itself exploited for its local wealth, and even knowing for a long time the deepest well in France.
