Fortified castle located in the town of Kaysersberg Vignoble, in the Haut-Rhin, the castle of Kaysersberg is a construction dating from the beginning of the 13th century.
Its ruins are classified as Historical Monuments, while the remains of its enclosure are listed. Originally, the purpose of the building was to block the roads coming from Lorraine, playing an essential role in the war between the Empire and the Dukes of Lorraine.
It is still possible to admire the cylindrical keep, one of the oldest in Alsace, which reveals walls more than four meters thick. The site also unveils the stately home with pointed arch windows. On the heights, one enjoys a breathtaking view of the city.
