Things to see and do

Rebuilt at the end of the 19th century, the Saint-Martin church of La Baroche-sous-Lucé presents in particular a beautiful bas-relief of polychrome limestone from the 14th century. Classified as Historical Monuments, this piece represents the charity of Saint Martin. A feudal mound more than 900 years old, that of La Baroche also takes place in the village, as the chapel of the Bois Bandel dedicated to Saint Barbe. Blessed at the end of the 15th century, it deserves the detour. Do not miss to admire the Petit Quincé, manor of the end of the 18th century.

Inscribed in the Historic Monuments, the cross hosannière in granite of 1628 of Beaulandais takes place in the old cemetery of the village. The church of Saint-Etienne of the 20th century also deserves a detour.

The vestiges of the castle of Bonvouloir, located in Juvigny-sous-Andaine are today classified to the Historic Monuments. Built in the 15th century, it was largely destroyed during the French Revolution at the end of the 18th century. One can still admire the tower of Bonvouloir, a dovecote, a chapel of the seventeenth century, a bread oven, a well and various agricultural buildings. The old village also presents the church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, the manor of the Lys or the dolmen of the Lit de la Gione. The forest of the Andaines, to the north of the territory, includes several hiking trails (GR 22,22b, 22c) and is open to cyclists, riders or walkers.

In Loré, the ford is an old ford of the Roman road from Jublains to Vieux and now serves as an archaeological site.

The church of Saint-Gilles de Lucé features a beautiful 17th-century bell-tower. The old village also features a feudal mound known as the Hill.

The church of Saint-Denis de Saint-Denis-de-Villenette dates partly from the 12th century.

The Saint-Aignan church of Sept-Forges, dating from the 16th century, is listed in the Historic Monuments. It has a bell tower of Renaissance style with very beautiful gargoyles. Do not miss the 12th-century Notre-Dame d'Etrigé chapel, listed in the Historical Monuments, or the Mebzon manor, also registered. Strolling through the old town, you can also admire a caste motte, the 16th-century Saint-Joseph chapel in the cemetery, or the eighteenth-century Cheviers castle.
