Jongieux

Jongieux is therefore the paradise of amateur or confirmed oenologists. White, rosé or red, the grape varieties come in three colors to offer the maximum flavor. A dry, thirst-quenching white, lively in the mouth and fruity or a rather young red, a light dress and a taste of red fruit, it's up to you to choose. Unless the simplest is to taste both! After having regaled your taste buds, you will have all the time to leave for a walk through the woods around. Confirmed hikers or beginners will be delighted to discover the Haut-Rhône de la Chautagne to join the falls of Virignin. This protected natural area reserves you many surprises in terms of its flora and its very exceptional fauna. You can also take the paths that run through the surrounding mountains, allowing you to reach remarkable views where you can see the surrounding peaks with the valley stretching out at your feet.

And rightly, back in the village, your visit of the places will end with the church of Jongieux built in 1884/1885. The building has magnificent recently laid stained glass windows recounting scenes specific to life in Jongieux and to the region as the culture of the vineyard.

Each year the gourmet walks take place. This walk in the vineyards brings together no less than 1,600 people for the occasion. Besides the steps in the vineyards, gourmet stops mark the way. Between meals carefully selected to enhance the taste of the wines and grandiose scenery, the sensation of sweetness of life gives appointment to all Epicureans. The cellars open their doors for the occasion and the vineyards give their best wines as an offering to visitors curious to awaken their taste buds.
