The commune of Hures-la-Parade is located on the Causse Méjean: a limestone plateau of 33,000 hectares in the south-west of Lozère, surrounded by the gorges of the Tarn and the gorges of Jonte, on which around 500 inhabitants live, living mainly from sheep farming. and tourism.
It is the union of two small towns: Hures and La Parade. The town hall is located in La Parade, a village on the D986 road between Sainte-Enimie and Meyrueis. The municipality of Hures-la-Parade has 15 hamlets including Nivoliers, Le Villaret, Hures, Saubert, Drigas, Les Hérans, Hyelzas, La Retournade, La Parade, La Borie, Le Bédos, Les Avens and Aumières, but also Cazeneuve and Les Douzes.
