Small village of Lot-et-Garonne, at the crossroads of the tourist departments of Gers, Gironde, and Landes, Houeillès takes place at about sixty kilometers of Agen, at two hours of road of the solid mass of Pyrenees. It is located in the heart of the Pays de Lugues, on the edge of the Landes department via the municipality of Lubbon.
The capital of the canton created in medieval times from two units attached to the Duchy of Albret, the village of Houeillès has had a peaceful history over the centuries, before suffering the ravages of the Second World War. The town suffered from bombing in June 1944 which left some marks. After experiencing significant prosperity turned towards the production of wood, it has gradually turned into a tourist city.
Houeillès remains today appreciated for its charm and its ambient calm, as much as for the interest of its architectural and historical inheritance.
