Member of the Regional Natural Park of the Vosges of the North, Haspelschiedt is a charming small village of almost 300 inhabitants located in region Grand East, in the department of Moselle. Partly covered with forests, it takes place in the arrondissement of Sarreguemines, not far from the town of Bitche.
Populated since Prehistory, the Lorraine commune was the scene of an important battle between the Duke of Lorraine and the Bishop of Metz at the end of the thirteenth century. It also suffered many changes in the midst of the Second World War, seeing itself included in the military camp of Bitche, a neighboring city.
Today, Haspelschiedt is best known for its tourist activity, notably through its architectural heritage, as well as its natural preserved and authentic spaces.
