Inaugurated in 1967, the sports hall of Grenoble is the work of architects Robert Demartini and Pierre Junillon. Originally built to host the skating events of the 1968 Winter Olympics, as well as the closing ceremony, it is now used as a venue for sporting and cultural activities.
With a capacity of 12,000 seats, the sports hall of Grenoble benefits from the ACR label, as well as the Heritage of the 20th century label. Equipped with a permanent velodrome, the one also called the Pierre Mendès France Palace has hosted a large number of international artists since its opening, such as Mylène Farmer, Elton John or Snoop Dogg.
