Grenade-sur-l'Adour

• The central square of Tilleuls (5 988 m²): It is one of the most important Bastides Landes. His vocation has always been commercial. It is lined with cutlery that constituted portions of streets in its own right. Small picturesque streets recall the existence of ancient fortifications: street of the ramparts, street of the old ditches, street of the walk way... By strolling you will also admire beautiful half-timbered facades.
• The Gothic church Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul du Marsan: The Romanesque church of the fifteenth century rebuilt in the eighteenth century has a facade with two towers, built in 1833 in the image of Saint Sulpice. A very beautiful descent of the cross is framed by the altarpiece, in the choir decorated with woodwork. It is classified in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments (ogival portal, altarpiece, choir decorated with woodwork, pulpit of the eighteenth century...). Since 1340, the church of St. Peter and St. Paul Marsan watches over Granada. Sentinel at the corner of the central square of the fourteenth century bastide (1322), she experienced the pain of wars of religion, that of terror and the threat of SS columns, which she still bears the stigmata. At the entrance, above the holy water font, is a Pieta placed in front of the list of the dead of the 14-18 war. Altar, altarpiece and tabernacle are classified. The church underwent a major renovation in 1994. The choir was restored in 2011.
• The arcades: The square of Grenade-sur-l'Adour still has on two sides arcades dating from the fourteenth century.
• The banks of the Adour: They are particularly popular with walkers, picnickers and fishermen.
• The pediment: The Landes are also a department in which Basque pelota is practiced, which explains the presence of a pediment on the Place des Déportés.
• The municipal swimming pool "Stéphanie Barneix", open from June 4th to July 7th on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 2.30pm to 7pm and from July 8th to August 31st from Monday to Saturday from 2.30pm to 7pm. The municipal swimming pool has two basins for every swimmer to find happiness! If the large pool of 25 meters is reserved for swimmers, playful pools will be the refuge of dabblers. Relaxing green areas and mineral beaches around the pools make this equipment an ideal place to sunbathe and play. On registration, swimming lessons from Monday to Friday between 11h and 13h and water aerobics sessions Tuesday from 10:15 to 11h.
• The shelters: Some restored, are still visible, reminding the organization of the gardens of the Bastide whose construction was fixed at 9 perches per m².
• Hiking trails: loop "Grenadoise" in the city and loops in the outskirts and open countryside.
• The Museum of Landaise History: Of all the old objects, they say they have a soul. To tell the children the facts and the life of yesteryear, no speech, no rhetoric but finds and questions: for who cooked the garbure in the big pot? What grandmother has worn the vixel in cotton? And the proud artisans with laborious arms, what did they create? Sabotiers, coopers, blacksmiths, resinists, carpenters, peasants and shepherds, waders, once finished their day of labor, devoured the boat and made "chabrot". The whole story takes place here, scene after scene. The living memory of a corner of the Landes vibrating its deep roots. The cult of the soil, another way to discover the charm of the past, also to thank those who spontaneously made donations or loans. The small museum protects all these wonders and offers them to the eyes of the lovers of the soil. The magic is at the rendezvous with Marina who will guide your steps.
• The museum "Centuries of History": Designed and directed by Jean-Pierre Valenti, the museum "Centuries of History" is articulated in two rooms with a permanent exhibition and another temporary. The permanent exhibition is based on the life of General Durrieu, born in Larrivière-Saint-Savin and died at 86 in Saint-Sever. This glorious soldier served under the Revolution, the Directory, the Consulate, the First Empire, the Restoration, the July Monarchy and the Second Empire. He was deputy of the Landes from 1834 to 1851, made baron under the Restoration in 1830 and received peer of France in 1845. This room offers original documents with prestigious signatures (Bonaparte, Berthier...), firearms, very beautiful white weapons, breastplates and sparkling helmets, all of a perfect authenticity. Two magnificent showcases show the figurines of the main actors of the epic of the First Empire. The second room is dedicated to the temporary exhibition dedicated to the health service during the Great War with the striking reconstruction of a field hospital during the 1914-18 war.
• The Pavilion of Resistance and Deportation: On June 13, 1944, during an action of the guerrillas led by Master Vielle, Deputy Mayor of Grenada and President of the Chamber of Notaries of the Landes, a German detachment was intercepted at Bordères, a neighboring village, inflicting on the enemy significant losses. It was during this ambush that René Vielle was mortally wounded. In reprisal, the population gathered in the public square and held under the threat of machine guns was helplessly assisting in the burning of its main buildings and the arrest of thirty hostages, many of whom were deported. In June 1948, Grenade-sur-l'Adour erected a stele in front of the town hall. On November 11 that same year, the city was named to the Army Corps by the State Secretariat for the Armed Forces and on June 12, 1949, received the Croix de Guerre 39-45 with a vermeil star. In 1999, the municipality inaugurated the Pavilion of Resistance and Deportation gathering the many testimonies of this dark period of local history.

The Granada Festivals 2017 were held from May 26th to May 28th, under a summer sun. The children were able to discover new games thanks to the Espace Jeunes of the Grenadois Country, climb trees with the association Les Tas de Nature or even learn badminton with the Grenadois club. Athletes had a taste of the Tour de France during the cycling race and everyone was tested during the untimed walking race on Saturday morning which was a great success. Then, for all the public, the municipality had bet on originality and diversity: flag throwers, a mentalist, several music concerts with accents from New Orleans or the Soul... The Festivals of Granada 2017, organized for the first time by the municipality, have delighted audiences of all ages and from all walks of life! For 2018, beginning of June, various highlights are being programmed, not to mention the unifying and intergenerational moments: the Aubade to the elderly, the fishing contest, the "Grenadoise" race, the Landaise race at the Jean Durieu Arena....

T hesitate to be creative and explore the Pays Grenadois and its riches to come up with some great photos. - To take part, simply fill in the registration form and read the rules below. - Competition open to amateur photographers aged 18 and over.

• Come and visit FREMA, a company specializing in the design and manufacture of multipurpose straddle-jumpers : farm tractors that can straddle the rows of vines or corn, and thus move around a field without damaging tall crops. The quality of its machines, the services it offers and its customer references make this SME, co-managed by Jean-Michel and Patrick Duclavé with their 30 employees and over 30 years' experience, a sure bet in its field. FREMA focuses on six specialties : welding, mechanics, boiler-making, electricity, body painting and hydraulics.

• Insects have always pollinated our wild and cultivated flowers, but their decline in numbers and variety in recent years means we face a major challenge : continuing to produce vegetables and fruit for a healthy diet. - With Thomas, from Amaia formation, come and understand the importance of all these insects which are essential to our ecosystems, meet the four main groups of pollinators, understand the importance of their daily pollination work, discover the co-evolution between flowering plants and their pollinators and finally, learn how to encourage their return to our landscape, as well as what to avoid doing to avoid disturbing their life cycle.

• From Wednesday June 19 to Friday June 21, Radio Mobile will be hosted by the commune of Grenade-sur-l'Adour. - The radio team will be reporting from the commune, and gathering the views of local residents to create a participatory program ! - Radio Mobile is offering a radio workshop open to all.
