Germinon is a commune of the Marne and the Community of Municipalities of the Region of Virtues.
The name comes from the Latin Germinon "Germinius" and the suffix "Onem" which means "The field Germinius."
In 1873, there were four bars, a pool, a miller, two weavers, one egg and two farriers in the town.
Today Germinon retained a rural character.
