The 11th- and 13th-century Château de Gavaudun fortress perches on a rocky spur like a proud sentry. Of interest during the visit is its imposing 70m-high keep, curtain walls and entrance via a natural cave, as well as the fantastic view over the Lède valley and Gavaudun village rooftops from the top of its tower.
