Le Castelet is a town of Calvados, in Normandy region, a dozen kilometers south of Caen.
The town was officially established on 1 January 2019 following the merger of Saint-Aignan-de-Cramesnil, its seat (569 inhabitants) and Garcelles-Secqueville (886 inhabitants), now with a population of almost 1,400 inhabitants.
In 1827, the hamlets of Garcelles Secqueville and had merged.

Two ancient villages have a wealth of interest. On Garcelles-Secqueville, Castle Garcelles date of 1721. The building of neoclassical bill lacks neither pace nor charm, but has been included in the Inventory in 1942 for its park and lined paths beech and oak trees to prevent logging under the war effort are made!
As for the church dedicated to St. Martin, which was enlarged in the sixteenth century by the addition of an arrow while the original building dated back to the twelfth, it was destroyed during the fighting in 1944. However, it is the golf Caen Garcelles that proves the most prestigious equipment of the commune. It was inaugurated in 1989 near the eponymous castle and the greens run along a portion of the classified park.
