The Museum of Fine Arts Gaillac, in the Tarn, is housed since 1934 in the castle Foucaud, a classical-style building, protected as historical monuments, surrounded by a pleasant park.
Labeled Museum of France, the establishment has a permanent collection built around works of Firmin Salabert, a pupil of Ingres, which was bequeathed to the city his paintings. The fund has grown over the decades with works of Henri Loubat Charles Escot, Raymond and Raymond Tournon Tournon father or son of Joseph Espalioux (all the nineteenth and twentieth centuries).
The museum also exhibits since recently sculptures by Jules Pendariès and oils and drawings of Marie Bermond.
Are proposed also temporary exhibitions in the summer.
After hosting in 2018 an exceptional exhibition of works held usually at the Tokyo Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts Gaillac will reopen in March 2020.
Open daily except Tuesdays from April to October and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from November to March.
