Chapel Notre-Dame-de-Jérusalem

Monument in Fréjus

Also known as the Cocteau chapel because it was designed by the famous French author in 1963, the Notre-Dame-de-Jerusalem chapel in Fréjus, in the Var, is now listed in the additional inventory of Historic Monuments. Octagonal in shape, the building unveils an iconography dedicated to the Passion and Resurrection of Christ with in particular a Last Supper revealing Cocteau himself and his friend Jean Marais as apostles.

Now owned by the city of Fréjus, the Notre-Dame-de-Jerusalem chapel allows you to discover the art and colorful aesthetics of Jean Cocteau, but also the ceramics of Roger Pélissier.
