Things to see and do

In the town of Fourmetot, that crossed a Roman road in antiquity and which depended the Middle Ages the Abbey of St. Peter of Préaux, several sites are worth in terms of heritage eye. This is first of the Notre Dame church, which dates to its oldest parts of the thirteenth century, and whose style is both novel (tower and bell tower) and Gothic. At the option of a walk in the village and in the surrounding countryside, the Castle of the Hamel (XVI), the manor of the Crossroads and its finely crafted porch (XVII) and the farm of Epinay (whose foundations date eleventh) remained notorious after several resistant there were murdered by German soldiers on the eve of D-Day, are also to see.

On Saint-Ouen-des-Champs, the eponymous parish church was built in the twelfth century and rebuilt in the fifteenth (nave), seventeenth (bell tower) and finally the eighteenth (chorus). It offers a rich furniture (pulpit, altar) and many statues. The church is protected as historical monuments, as are the manor Vivier (XII) and the mansion of Kings thatched, high in the thirteenth of which there are still a large part of the house, a barn and a wine press cider. More curious, do not forget to admire in the village cemetery if a classified "remarkable tree" that gives the site an almost romantic appearance.

Finally, also in terms of heritage, the village of Saint-Thurien has a church rebuilt in the sixteenth century and whose bell tower was rebuilt in the XVIII and a castle of the eighteenth neoclassical style, which was completely restored in the heart a beautifully crafted park, all that now houses a hotel complex.

Next up for walks in a green and wooded countryside with rivers, which lends itself perfectly. Many tours are possible with possible stops from producers (cider, cheese) or incursions to the banks of the Seine.
