Commune du Rhône, Fleurie is a village of about 1300 inhabitants located in the heart of the Beaujolais Crus, in the district of Villefranche-sur-Saone, not far from the Saone-et-Loire. For a long time, it owes its fame to its important viticultural culture, which earned him an AOC for his Beaujolais vintage.
With a long history, the village of Fleurie is now fully turned to tourism with cellar tours and various cultural and entertaining events that are offered throughout the year.
It is an ideal place for nature lovers (hiking trails, mountain biking), oenology and gastronomy. From the chapel of the Madonna overlooking the village, we can discover all the Beaujolais and the Saone Valley, the Dombes and the Alps.
Fleurie obtained the label Green Station in 2008. It is the recognition of the quality of reception in villages or small towns which develop their tourism while keeping their authenticity. To preserve the nature and to show the wealth of the soils are the principal preoccupations to welcome tourists looking for convivial and true places.
New ideas should come about to ensure the amenities of everyone, locals and passing visitors, and introduce Fleurie as a destination for a variety of activities.
Hard to resist all the tourist attractions of Fleurie and the country of Beaujolais!
