17th century pleasure residence standing proudly in the heart of Cotentin, in Manche, the castle of Flamanville is now listed in the Historic Monuments. Erected on the remains of an old fortified house from the 11th century, it has been owned by the municipality of Flamanville since the end of the 1980s.
Set of gray granite buildings by Flamanville, the site is in the form of a main building flanked by two pavilions and having reused sections of the walls of the old fortified house. Some rooms of the castle are now available for hire, and the premises also have a stopover gîte.
Open to the public free of charge, the park is appreciated for its water features as well as for its dahlias garden made up of around a hundred varieties. Enriched with woods and ponds, this space of several hectares is accessible all year round.
