Smaller church in Figeac, in the Lot, the Carmelite Church, also called Saint-Thomas-Becket church, was founded in the 12th century by the abbots of Saint-Sauveur. Partly destroyed by the Protestants in the 16th century during the capture of the city, it underwent a restoration to the economy in the first half of the 17th century when the Catholics returned to Figeac.
Completely restored in the second half of the 19th century, it has retained its medieval-looking apse, and still has some fireplaces, as well as a capital from the Saint-Sauveur church used as a holy water font.
Mainly Gothic in style, the Carmelite Church is now listed in the Historic Monuments.
