Founded in 1050 by Herluin Conteville, the Notre-Dame de Grestain is the burial site of Arlette, mother of William the Conqueror, as well as several other members of the ducal family. Qu'abolie well as an abbey in 1750 and almost completely destroyed, its remains are of the highest interest vaulted 12th century boundary wall of great beauty, park, St. Benedict source.
Many cultural events are organized during the summer: guided tours, historical lectures, concerts and theater.
