Castle Créminil is located in the commune of Estrée-Blanche, in the Pas-de-Calais, 28 km north-west of Bethune.
Erected in 1443 on the basis of a first building and restored in the sixteenth century after a fire, it has a circular plane forming an inner courtyard and is flanked by towers, turrets and buttresses. Its white stone walls with a thickness of 80 to 120 cm are based on a base checkerboard (alternating sandstone and flint). Moreover, we note that the terrace overlooking the moat was created in the eighteenth century.
If some defensive elements were redesigned, always access is via a drawbridge restored in 2005 that crosses the rich fishing moat. Several noble families in the region have succeeded at the head of this property until the Revolution. In fact, the castle Créminil is still private, having been the subject of listing on the Inventory.
Note that the area includes a park landscaped garden medieval, but also a secret garden and orchards.
