Altbronn or Altbrunne ( the village to the old fountain ) is a village that disappeared during the first half of the 14th century. There remained only the church that Bishop William Diest erected on a pilgrimage in honor of the Virgin Mary in 1397. During the 15th and 16th century, the shrine is experiencing a period of prosperity and decline, and finally abandoned in 1765. the number of pilgrims has never ceased.

The chapel is open daily from 9am to 18pm.
