Epagny-Metz-Tessy is born a new town in Haute-Savoie of the merger of Metz-Tessy Epagny and municipalities. This is the new common first authorized by the prefect in September 2015 and formally established on 1 January 2016.
Located in the northern French Alps, Epagny-Metz-Tessy enjoys a privileged location. The new town of about 7160 inhabitants is located in the department of Haute-Savoie.
Between lakes and mountains, this pretty town is 5 kilometers northwest of Annecy and forty kilometers from Switzerland and Geneva. This old dried marshy valley is surrounded northwest by the mountain of Mandallaz and south by the Nant de Gillon (tributary of the Proud).
This former swamp area drained is now the location of the busiest shopping districts in the Grand Epagny.

At the heart of the county town of Metz-Tessy, Tessy chapel door inherit the rich heritage of the city. Built in the nineteenth century at the request of the Franciscan religious of the Sacred Heart of Villeurbanne, the chapel is now a place of worship for the parish of Epagny. Acquired and rehabilitated by the city in 1977, the old Gothic Revival institution is redesigned to keep the chapel to worship the host library "Crypt books" in its lower part and municipal services in the outbuildings.
