Things to see and do

Citadel Entrevaux:

Vauban wanted impregnable: it never came. The citadel, however, begins to engage the public ....

Of the magazine to the very contemporary prison cells, you can imagine what life in the fortress. Further, you indignant of the fate of enemies, who, despite the altitude and the hostility of the site, managed to infiltrate it.

The castle and the half-mile ramp leading to it are indeed built on the side of stone on a narrow rocky outcrop, and encircled by the river Var.

The site, thus isolated, is literally extraordinary. Expect great views over the medieval village of Entrevaux well as all around.

The citadel is open to the public daily non-stop.
