A town with many identities, Enghien-les-Bains in Val-d'Oise has been renowned since the 19th century for its prestigious spa and rich architectural heritage. Set on the edge of a 43-hectare lake, it's the only spa in Île-de-France, and its sulphur-rich waters are renowned for their benefits in treating ENT and respiratory disorders, as well as osteoarthritis.

Its Casino and baths, a stone's throw from Paris, have been drawing visitors to the area for 200 years. Its huge wellness complex, the Spark, offers many different activities: a water circuit with jets, geysers and waterfalls, steam rooms and saunas, a swimming pool, gym, 24 cabins providing a wide range of treatments, and more. There's no better way to get back in shape!

Enghien-les-Bains is also a charming town, dotted with majestic houses in various styles reflecting its rise to prominence since the 19th century. Opposite the spa, the lake and its superb plane trees offer an inviting setting for walking or water sports. Admire the Villa du Lac and its garden, as well as the beautiful waterside villas, then head to the Esplanade Patenôtre-Desnoyers to enjoy a stunning view of the lake, the Casino and the Jardin des Roses park.

Culture also has pride of place in this town of many attractions. With its red seats, gilded balconies and exceptional acoustics, the Casino Barrière theatre offers a rich and eclectic programme. It offers nearly fifty different shows every year: theatre, music, cabaret, opera, musical comedy, one-man shows… Since 2000, the lake shores have come to life in early July with the Barrière Enghien Jazz Festival, a flagship music event where the biggest names in jazz perform during four days. The Enghien-les-Bains Arts Centre, meanwhile, is a thriving arts venue with a focus on contemporary creation in dance, film, music, theatre and the visual arts.

Enghien-les-Bains is a town of Val-d'Oise, located just 11 km northwest of Paris.

The city of Enghien-les-Bains was established by law in 1850. Its name comes from the lordship of Enghien, near Mons in Belgium. In 1689, the Prince of Conde is lord of the land in Montmorency. It is also lord of Enghien in Hainaut. He obtained the king's permission to change the name of his duchy in the peerage of Montmorency d'Enghien. Thus the new pond of Montmorency (future Lake Enghien) he becomes the pond of Enghien. A few years after the Revolution, Montmorency finds its original name, but the use remains the name of Enghien in the pond. Also, when some time after a hamlet is at this point he will naturally called "Hamlet of Enghien."

In June, the city sounds. Les Bains Digital, Digital Arts Festival, and Enghien Jazz Festival Enghien-les-Bains animate. A monumental floating stage is then installed on the lake welcome numerous artists such as Uncle Ben Soul, Raphael, the Blues Brothers Band or Maceo Parker ...

Every third Sunday in September, a large flea market is organized by the Lions Club of Enghien-Montmorency at the pier of the lake.
