The museum of Rouen Normandy located in former textile factories and which also includes, among other things, a heritage interpretation center.
Its original collection was focused on taxidermy thanks to the collections of stuffed birds brought together by Pierre Noury, former preparer of the Paris Natural History Museum.
It then opened up to Fine Arts and then to archaeology, thanks to donations from local learned societies. After the Second War, it expanded to include industrial history.
Are now presented on the first level a History of the collections and sciences at swimming. Geological collections also allow us to explore the prehistory of the territory.
On the upper level, collections dedicated to natural environments, archeology and finally the industrial history of the city, mainly that of textiles, are highlighted: presentation of old machines, explanation of manufacturing processes and exhibitions of products that have made the reputation of the locality and its factories.
Temporary exhibitions are regularly scheduled as well as workshops, conferences, events and shows.
