Located in Digne-les-Bains, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Saint-Jérôme Cathedral is a religious building today classified as a Historic Monument. Faced with the abandonment of the Notre-Dame du Bourg cathedral at the time of the Wars of Religion, the bishop decided, in 1490, to build a new church between the castle and the bell tower. It has undergone numerous developments over the centuries, until revealing its current neo-Gothic style obtained during the 19th century.
It was at this time that it was enhanced with an additional bay and a facade inspired by 13th century Gothic. It was erected as a co-cathedral in 1962. Inside, it is still possible to discover a gallery organ from the second half of the 19th century placed in a neo-Gothic case and classified as a Historic Monument as an object for its part instrumental. Exhibitions are organized there every summer from July to September.
