Devay

Five hiking trails provide access to the last wild river in Europe, but also to the bird observatory which dominates the Bras Mort reserve, and to a landscape reading table.

The Appelettes circuit (9 km - 2h30) is located in the heart of the Loire Bourguignonne Regional Nature Reserve created in 2015. This path partly runs along the right bank of the river and offers views of the wild Loire. It borrows part of the GR3.

The village of Devay, located high up, offers you a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside from the start of this hike. At the washhouse, a landscape reading table will reveal all the keys to these landscapes.

The +: A little further on this path, a bird observatory on the backwater of the river allows you to freely observe the rich fauna and flora of this unique place. To see also, the Virgin in the tree located on the path which goes down to the Loire. The statue of the Virgin nestled in an oak tree has several stories, it is said to have been placed there either to escape revolutionary vandalism or to protect livestock and vines.
