Aunay-sur-Odon:

Located at the crossroads of the routes from Old to Avranches and Bayeux to Condé-sur-Noireau, the site of Aunay-sur-Odon has been occupied since the Gallo-Roman era.

The lord of Aunay participated in the battle of Hastings in 1066.

In 1131, an abbey church was founded by the du Hommet, constables of Normandy and Aunay develops and is prosperous until the English invasions of the fourteenth century. Aunay remained a typically monastic town until the Revolution.

Henry II of England gave special protection to Aunay and the Countess of Tesse obtained confirmation of the market established in the city.

In 1895, Aunay became Aunay-sur-Odon.

Entirely destroyed by the bombings of June 12, 1944, Aunay-sur-Odon was the first municipality of Normandy rebuilt thanks to the Marshall Plan, these works being completed in 1950.

As for the pleasures of the table, you will find a producer of foie gras, rillettes, terrines and meats.

The village is at the foot of Mount Pinçon, the highest point of Calvados with 345 meters high. At the top is installed the Caen Radio and Television Transmitting Center, the tall pylon tall of 216 meters was built in 1968.
