Daix

Built in the mid-19th century, the church of Saint-Laurent takes place on the remains of a building probably dating from the 11th century. Renovated in the course of the 2000s, it still unveils today a sculpture of a Christ with life-size links of the mid-sixteenth century, liturgical ornaments of the nineteenth century, and a large painting of St. Lawrence dating from the same time.

As you walk through the town, you can discover the old wash house, the Bonnet door, or Devil's door with its sculpted Phrygian cap, or Fort Hauteville. The latter, built in the second half of the nineteenth century, served as a prison for the Germans during the First World War, and is still today under the surveillance of the army. The entire building is listed in the supplementary inventory of Historic Monuments.

Haven of peace very popular with locals and visitors, the municipal park of Tourelles opens its doors all year to enjoy the local fauna and flora. The Bois des Pisseux also offers several hiking opportunities.

Concerts are organized for the Festival of Music on June 21st.

On the occasion of the national holiday, in July, Daix proposes a ball as well as a fireworks display.
