Municipality of Combe de Savoie and Parc des Bauges, Cruet takes place on the southern flank of the Bauges massif, between Chambéry and Albertville. This rural commune which takes its name from the Latin corrosum, meaning a small hollow, developed since the Gallic era.
From the 3rd century BC, it was in fact crossed by the ancient road of the Combe de Savoie, particularly near the Château de Verdun. The tomb of a Gallic soldier was notably discovered nearby.
