Things to see and do

Sarrazac:

There are many activities to do in Sarrazac. Starting with the discovery of the fabulous architectural heritage of this village with rich and multi-century history. In the village itself, discover the Saint-Geniès church. It is registered with the Historical Monuments since 1947. Its edification is mentioned since the ninth century! Research tends to prove that it was built in place of the early church that dates back to antiquity.

In the village of Hôpital Saint-Jean, discover the Saint-Roch church. The story goes that it was after a terrible epidemic of plague that raged in the seventeenth century that the inhabitants of the hamlet decided to build a chapel dedicated to Saint Roch who is the protector of the sick victims of the plague. The chapel has disappeared but the church that can be seen today bears the same name. It is nevertheless much more recent since its construction dates back to the end of the 19th century.

But the village of Sarrazac also has natural treasures to discover on the occasion of hiking along paths in the surrounding countryside. Trails and paths that allow visitors to wander the valleys and discover the remains of small buildings. These small walls were once built by the peasants to delineate their properties. There are also dry stone huts, which are called here cazelles.

There is also celebrated the same day the party of the neighbors on the place Henri Taillardat. Tables and benches are set up along the presbytery wall and everyone is invited to celebrate these festive events in good spirits. For the musical atmosphere, a local DJ is invited.

In the heart of the summer season, August 14, it is a large gourmet market that is organized by the town hall of Sarrazac between the mill and the multipurpose room, south of the town of Saint John Hospital. The purpose of organizing this market is to promote local products. Everyone can choose the dishes he wants to eat on the spot or even take his shopping for a tasting a little later at home.
