The village Coyolles, located in the forest, overlooking the valley of the Fall. Its territory covers an area of 2454 hectares, of which nearly 2000 forest.
If Coyolles is now single parish, it was before the Revolution, the seat of a deanery of the diocese of Soissons. Coyolles does not have one, but two castles old 'Old Castle' stately Valois, and a large castle built in the beginning of the Second Empire (not open to visitors).
Coyolles is famous into the literature in 'The Wolf Leader' Alexandre Dumas describes his mill.
In September 1914, the Mayor, Jacques Moreau, mobilized as a cavalry captain actively involved in the success of the 1st Battle of the Marne.
