Municipality of Hérault, in the Occitanie region, Cournonterral takes place about fifteen kilometers from Montpellier, between vineyards and scrubland. It is located not far from the beaches of Vic-la-Gardiole and Sessan, on the banks of the Coulazou.
Occupied since prehistoric times, as evidenced by the caves, pottery or other tumuli found on site, the territory of Cournonterral developed in the Middle Ages, joining the crown of France at the end of the 14th century. Strongly affected by religious struggles in the 16th century, the town subsequently experienced its development with viticulture.
Today, this city in the southwest of France continues to seduce visitors thanks to a great cultural dynamic, but also its proximity to some of the most beautiful sites in the region.
