Small village of Maine-et-Loire, in the Pays de la Loire, Cornillé-les-Caves takes place about twenty kilometers from Angers, not far from Seiches-sur-le-Loir, Beaufort-en-Anjou and Loir-Authion.
Rich in troglodyte dwellings and old tuffeau houses, the town was built on a Roman hillock of nearly eighty meters. Formerly Gallo-Roman domain of importance, it takes full scope under the reign of Foulques Nerra between the end of the tenth century and the beginning of the eleventh.
Awarded the contest of towns and villages in France, Cornillé-les-Caves is also, since 1976, a protected site registered heritage. Difficult today to resist the charm of this small village, holiday resort popular with Angevins, and its houses with typical architecture of the region.
