Village of Nièvre, in Burgundy, Franche-Comté Corbigny takes place about sixty kilometers from Nevers, near the Regional Natural Park of Morvan. It is located not far from Pazy, Monceaux-le-Comte and Mouron-sur-Yonne.

Populated for many centuries, the territory of Corbigny was once one of the first steps on the road to Saint Jacques de Compostela for pilgrims left Vézelay. Located in the heart of a farming region of cattle, especially cows Charolais, the village is still facing agriculture, revealing green landscapes and authentic.

Full of charm, the town also has a rich architectural and cultural heritage which reflects the glorious past of the area. Visitors will be attracted by its tranquility and its architecture.

Things to see and do

Built in the eighteenth century, the St. Leonard Abbey is a former Benedictine monastery now classified historical monument. Mainly classical style, the site has changed repeatedly function after the French Revolution, serving particular stud, Petit seminar, ENS or Farmer Field School. In 2003, the abbey became a center of artistic creation and dissemination, hosting several cultural associations. It annually hosts many art major events.

Flamboyant Gothic style, the church Saint-Seine dates from the early sixteenth century. Built on the remains of an ancient building of the twelfth century, it has particularly its interior a style Louis XV lectern or stalls and clams cast classified historic monument as an object. Also ranked the pink marble baptismal font and the triptych The Sacred Heart of Jesus in the company of Saint Seine and Saint Leonard.

Nearby, the chapel of the Saarland once displayed the relics of Saint Leonard. It has long been a pilgrimage, like the nearby fountain Agatha-twelfth century.

Strolling down the streets of the village, you can enjoy the tile of the chapel of the Saarland of the eighteenth century or the town hall with its sculpted Romanesque capitals classified as an historic monument.

The town has prepared a memorial to the accident of The Emerald, an Indochina plane back in the 1930s that crashed on Corbigny and killed include Maurice Nogues, a pioneer of the modern aviation, and Pierre Pasquier, then Governor General of Indochina.
