Coquelles commune, located in the department of Pas-de-Calais, owes its current fame to the famous Channel Tunnel which it welcomes the entry. The city also houses various shops for the many tourists who use the tunnel daily.
Coquelles is close to the Opal Coast, four kilometers from Calais and around thirty kilometers from Boulogne-sur-Mer. This former rural village has become in recent years a temple of shopping and sightseeing with the work of the Channel Tunnel.
Very touristy, Coquelles still and always welcomes tourists waiting to use the tunnel and spend a few days on the other side of the sea. The town hosts since 1995 the largest shopping center of the department and thus has a commercial attractiveness of the most impressive.
