Former religious building founded in the second half of the twelfth century, the Charterhouse of the Verne takes place at Collobrières, in the Var. Formerly a Carthusian establishment, the building is located in the heart of the Massif des Maures.
Destroyed many times over the centuries and rebuilt many times, the building is now partly in ruins. Listed as a Historical Monument, the Charterhouse of the Verne remains accessible to visitors by a secure route.
Since 1983, the site has welcomed a congregation of nuns from Bethlehem who share hermitages. In one of them open to the public, it is possible to discover an arrangement defined on the Carthusian model.
