Located in the heart of the Pyrenees-Orientales, the Church of Our Lady of the Angels of Collioure is a beautiful religious building of southern Gothic style built in the second half of the seventeenth century, between 1684 and 1691, following the destruction of the Sainte-Marie church ordered by Vauban.
Regarded as one of the most famous churches in the department, it has inspired over the years world-famous artists. It reveals a dome of bell tower from the early nineteenth century and ends with a semicircular apse. Inside, visitors can discover a wealth of furniture such as the altarpieces of Saint John, the high altar, the Blessed Sacrament, the Precious Blood, Saint Vincent, Saint Eloi, Saint Lucia, Our Lady - Lady of Lourdes or rosary with its statuary of the eighteenth century.
Difficult to miss the treasure of Collioure with processional crosses, monstrances, candlesticks, reliquaries, burettes, or ornaments of the seventeenth century. The chapels are not lacking either interest with their many statues and their delicious paintings.
