Cohennoz

The ski resort Crest-Voland Cohennoz is the main tourist attraction of the commune of Cohennoz. Located in the Val d'Arly, it is now connected to the Espace Diamant ski area. It has different labels such as Station Grand Domaine, Nouvelles Glisses or Station Village. The station of Cohennoz takes place at more than 930 meters of altitude and offers a convivial and very familiar atmosphere appreciated by the visitors. There are mainly green and blue runs, and night runs are offered in season. A snow park and an Olympic Nordic area complete the offer. But skiing is not the only attraction of the resort which also offers initiations to ski-bob, paragliding, toboggan runs or snowshoe trails.

As you walk through the village, be sure to admire Saint-Pierre church or go to the ecomuseum. The latter makes it possible to discover Savoyard life in the 19th century, including a unique collection of miniaturized mountain tools and everyday objects made by schoolchildren at the end of the 19th century. A mountain reproduced allows to learn a little more about the local flora and fauna, while interactive terminals decorate the whole.

For the hike or the simple discovery of the open air, head for the forest of Bisanne which is full of mysteries to discover.

The festival Aigles à Ski is held in the resort in March. On the program, shows with the biggest raptors of the mountains and different animations unique of their kind.

At the beginning of August, the ski resort proposes the festival of old ovens and trades of yesteryear with demonstrations of old trades, folk dances, tastings or a parade.

The Cernix festival takes place on August 15 with its garage sales and musical entertainment.
