Things to see and do

A former 13th century fortified house, the Château de Montcharvin underwent numerous transformations in the 14th and 15th centuries. Former seigneury seat, the site takes the form of a building flanked by a square tower-residence, leveled at the roof. On the main facade remains a very beautiful mullioned window revealing a room with molded beams with a monumental fourteenth century fireplace. There are also still some old elements such as a low arched door from the 16th century and another door from the 13th with a three-point arch.

You will also be able to admire the other castles like those of Villeneuve, an old fortified house of the 14th century which served as a holiday resort for the painter Bessie Davidson in the 1930s, of Corinth, a building remodeled in the 16th century and now hosting an institute for young deaf people, or even Salins. A former 14th century fortified house, this last building reveals a very beautiful square tower as well as vestiges from the 15th and 16th centuries.

While strolling in the town, do not miss to discover the Saint-Pierre church and its magnificent altarpiece of Arcabas of the disciples of Emmaus, the remains of the Gallo-Roman villa, the Pont-Vieux or the castle of Martinel of the end of the 18th century.

Educational farm offering targeted discovery trails, the Forézan farm offers activities around the farm and environmental education.

To enjoy the surrounding landscapes, several marked hiking trails allow you to learn more about the local flora and fauna.
