Port de Tougues

Monument in Chens-sur-Léman

Archaeological site and ancient lakeside town located on the town Chens-sur-Léman present, in Haute-Savoie, wearing Tougues is now the subject of a classification to Historical Monuments

The site's story begins in the Bronze Age with Palafittes that develop around Lake Geneva. The first real port, one of Beauregard is primarily a deepwater port before taking a step further, the form it has today with the construction of a new jetty in the second half of XIXth century. The latter then boomed with the arrival of steamboats.
