Castle of La Sauvagère

Monument in Chemiré-le-Gaudin

Located on the hillside, close to woods, the Château de la Sauvagère is a very beautiful building from the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century. Private property not accessible to visitors, it reveals an honorary portal listed in the inventory of buildings in France, as well as a 17th century chapel topped with a skylight.

Inside the Château de la Sauvagère, it is possible to admire a beautiful living room decorated with the initials of Denis Le Vayer and Élisabeth de La Rivière who celebrated their marriage in the chapel in 1642.
