New municipality of Jura, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, Nanchez was created on January 1, 2016 from the grouping of Chaux-des-Prés and Prénovel, then Les Piards and Villars sur Bienne. It is located about forty kilometers from Lons-le-Saunier, around Morbier, Châtel-de-Joux or Les Crozets.
Nanchez is part of the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park, offering a wide range of unspoilt and authentic landscapes to discover while hiking in the surroundings.
In addition to a modest architectural heritage typical of this part of the Jura, Nanchez also offers its visitors a warm family winter sports resort to learn about cross-country skiing and various board sports.
Its proximity to some of the most beautiful tourist sites in the region, such as the Hérisson waterfalls or the Chapeau de Gendarme, makes it an ideal destination for nature and/or sports holidays.
