The small town of Chaumont-en-Vexin, with its more than 3,000 inhabitants, is located in Oise, in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais-Picardie region. It takes place in the heart of the French Vexin, about ten kilometers from Gisors, and about thirty kilometers from Beauvais. Built on a swamp and crossed by several rivers, the city benefits from a beautiful natural heritage, ideal for appreciating the local flora and fauna. Chaumont-en-Vexin takes its name from the Latin Castrum Calvi Montis, meaning the stronghold of Bald Mountain.

Begun in the early sixteenth century, the Church of St. John the Baptist was consecrated in 1554 on the northeast flank of the hill. Latin cross with projecting transept, it is a fine example of Gothic.
The city hall has taken refuge in the early twentieth century, in the former convent of the Récollets, which deserves a visit.
Labeled Museum of France, Raymond Pillon museum is named after the shoemaker of the same name, a member of the Prehistoric Society of France and an Academy officer who bequeathed his collection to the city. One can admire in particular paleontological or archaeological items found around the city.
