Limestone caves, natural, dug there are millions of years by rainwater (karst), Caves du Foulon were inhabited since prehistoric times by Palaeolithic man there are 300 000 years. You'll find an exhibition of flint tools dating from the age of cut stone and polished stone, set up by the Archaeological Society Dunoise.
Outstanding geological site, a veritable open book on the history of the Earth, the Caverns of Foulon and unique are the only caves in the world where you can watch thousands of marine giant geodes containing footprints of aquatic animals crystallized quartz and chalcedony . You will also find the whole diversity of the underworld: large rooms, galleries, pillars, giant pots, joint ... Rare on the planet: you can observe all the way to visit the famous KT layer, layer of the dinosaurs on Earth, there are 65 million years. These caves we reserve still good numbers of secrets to uncover, such the bones of giant dinosaurs discovered in August 2010, or the giant vertebra discovered in June 2011 ...
On a guided tour of more than one hectare in the town of Chateaudun, you will hear the history of mankind throughout the ages.
A treasure hunt is held permanently in caves, to help the smaller of these caves discovering more fun.
The tour ends with the full illumination of the caves, wonderful show highlighting the work of water on the rock!
