Located in the town of Chantilly, in the Oise, the Hippodrome des Princes de Conde was inaugurated in the first half of the 19th century. It takes place not far from the castle of Chantilly, it extends over sixty-five hectares and proposes about forty days of races a year.
Today owned by the Institut de France, it has a large track of 2400 meters, a straight line of 1200 meters, a runway average of 2150 meters, a round track or a fiberglass sand track of 1900 meters.
The stands can accommodate 30,000 spectators, including 2,300 seats. Listed as a historic monument, the Hippodrome des Princes de Condé was partly renovated at the beginning of the 21st century, and since its inception has been hosting prestigious races such as the Prix du Jockey Club, the Prix de Diane, the Prix de Royaumont or the Grand Prix of Chantilly. It is also regularly used for kite flying.
