Chamoux-sur-Gelon

Two castles take place on the commune of Chamoux-sur-Gelon, the oldest one today only reveals ruins that are difficult to see in the thickets, on the slope that leads to Montendry. The most recent stands proudly in the center of the village. Private property of the thirteenth century, it is partly listed in the Historical Monuments.

Do not miss to admire the fortified house of Villardizier, a stronghold of the thirteenth century which still remains some vestiges of the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, and a Romanesque opening.

The municipality of Chamoux-sur-Gelon has a cultural space including a library and a cultural room where a cinema screening takes place once a month (Wednesday) by Cinébus with the assistance of the association "Chamoux Culture Animation": 1 film in 17h for children, 1 film at 20h30 for all ages. The town also has a sports area including a football field with cloakroom and a tennis court. The town also hosts an association practicing free flight. A landing area is located on Chamoux.

A fair and a flea market are proposed in mid-April.

The annual vogue returns each year on the third weekend of July with the program, a carnival, a ball and a fireworks shot in the park of the castle.

At the beginning of August, Chamoux-sur-Gelon offers a cycling race.

A Christmas market with entertainment is organized in December.
